Hello

I’m Tina and welcome to my website.
I am an artist living in the Mundaring Hills, Western Australia. I have 3 wonderful grown children and currently live in a leafy suburb called Glen Forrest, with my husband and the many resident but free ranging Quendas in our garden.

I grew up as we often do, loving drawing and painting; after school I studied and worked as a graphic designer for a few years. Leaving work to become a full-time wife and mum was my next journey, I am very fortunate to have over 30 years with this man I love.

In 1998, an opportunity arose to work overseas in West Africa, so as young parents we decided to take our 3 children on a most rewarding adventure. Based in Ghana, we somehow travelled north and south on that continent, into Europe and across to the Americas. In 2002 we then spent a few years based in Chile, South America, before returning to the east coast of Australia, and finally back to the Kalgoorlie Goldfields in Western Australia.

Such extraordinary sights and experiences fill one’s life, it will probably take the rest of my lifetime to express all these as artworks!

All I know is that I’m a lover of vibrant colours, especially with botanical details, the world is a fabulous, visually stimulating canvas.

In 2009, I created a hobby business Mallee Girl Designs, making hand beaded jewellery. I have a marvellous bead collection from my travels and hope to showcase some items on this site from time to time.
Entrepreneurial me created a pop-up art gallery event in 2010 called Art2Go. In 2011, with two lovely business partners, we opened a bricks & mortar Art Gallery called Fossick Handmade in Kalgoorlie.

I decided to make time to paint again as my family was growing, plus I had my own art gallery! Thanks to a wonderful community of people, I have come to realise that art is just about letting go, having fun, enjoying the process but importantly making art and friends through art.

Living on the Perth escarpment for the last few years, the unique Australian biodiversity is a further source of inspiration. My landscape includes adventures in a 4wd & caravan, exploring a vast and fabulous country. The task now is capturing the essence of my gardens in imaginative, colourful paintings.

I love mixed media and I will usually include acrylic Inks, acrylic paints, watercolours, prints, pens and just about anything I can get my hands on. My work also usually includes elements of collage and textured pattern. I have a recent love of alcohol inks and resin – some say it may be a new addiction.

When I am not painting, or dreaming up new ideas, there’s a good chance you will find me pottering in my garden, hunting for vintage treasures, four-wheel driving with Steve, sharing meals with our children or reading a good book with a cuppa. This is a place for me to share my creative journey through mixed media, paint and all things arty with you.
I hope you enjoy visiting my site.
