I eventually had to paint a version of these butterfly flowers while travelling and then again on canvas when back in my studio.My love of all things magenta means that I have been drawn to this exotic flowering tree and its beautiful butterfly flowers. Its leaves are even shaped like the butterfly wings I used to draw when I was a child.
