Autumn Light On Gum Leaves is reminiscent of the crisp morning light on our backyard gum trees. Normally glossy leaves seem to shimmer with a pastel softness. From a series created as I began to shift focus from purely botanicals to celebrating our quintessential Australian bush.
The detail in each leaf is created in the multiple layers of colour and textures that I love to add before the final gum leaf shapes even begin to appear.
This artwork in acrylic paint is finished with a simple light birchwood floating frame which complements the art and is suitable for most home decor.
